From dog-themed festivals to sponsored dog walks, there’s lots of events for dog owners and dog lovers to look forward to this year. Here’s your guide to dog friendly days out in 2020.
One Fun Day
14 June: (virtual)
The RSPCA is hosting a fun-packed virtual event for you and your pets to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. This includes a Home Pet Show.

26th-27th September: Newbury, Berkshire
Enter your pretty pooch or handsome hound in a fun dog show hosted by All About Dogs. Includes qualifying heats for Scruffts at some events.

Muddy Dog Challenge
September – October (various locations)
Help raise funds for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home by taking part in a Muddy Dog Challenge. You can sign up with or without your dog for a 2.5 or 5km obstacle course.
Some dates for this the event have been cancelled, others have been postponed until later in the year. Find out how to sign up for your local Muddy Dog Challenge.
DogFest 2020 has been cancelled due to coronavirus, but plans for the 2021 event are already underway.

5th-6th September: Burley Park, The New Forest
You’ll find plenty of things on offer for dogs and their owners at this fun day out. From doggy demonstrations to a vintage fun fair and a wide choice of locally-produced food and drink.

Paws in the Park
19th-20th September, Kent Show Ground, Detling
10th-11th October: South of England Showground, Ardingly, West Sussex
There’s plenty to watch and do at Paws in the Park. You can enjoy demonstrations in the main arena and enter your dog into the companion dog show and much.

Goodwood, West Sussex (posted until Spring 2021)
You’ve heard of Glorious Goodwood, well now there’s Glorious Goodwoof! This event taking place over the May bank holiday weekend promises to be a celebration of dogs, with plenty to do for canines and their human companions.

19th-20th September: Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire
Dogs Unleashed is an event for the whole family. There’s lots to do from competitions and displays to have-a-go opportunities for your dog to try some sporting activities. Make a weekend of it and camp. Caravans and campervans are welcome.

Dog Lovers Festival (postponed until 2021)
Elvaston Showground, Derbyshire
This is a music festival with a difference – it’s designed exclusively for dog lovers. Book yourself a weekend camping ticket at K9 campsite and then sit and enjoy a great line-up of tribute acts.

April – October: various locations
Schnauzerfest helps to raise funds to pay for veterinary treatment for dogs from puppy farms and there are plenty of ways you can get involved. This includes Step Out for Schnauzerfest, which has been designed specifically for dog owners to participate in while maintaining social distancing. It is hoped that the Schnauzerfest walk – a public participatory event – which is due to take place in October, will still go ahead. Despite its name, Schnauzerfest welcomes all breeds and types of dogs to join them in their quest.
